We were very lucky today, a lady from Asda came into our class to teach us all about chocolate. We learnt that the cocoa pod grows on a tree and that the seeds are used to make chocolate, when mixed with sugar and milk. We tasted different types of chocolate 😋 – milk, plain white, chocolate spread and chocolate milkshake . Thanks Asda!!
Today we trained to be astronauts. We had to exercise because astronauts are very healthy, we also learnt some first aid and now know how to apply bandages and tasted astronaut food 😋
After break we talked about constellations and made well known ones with cocktail sticks and marshmallows. Later, we discussed and investigated how the craters on the moon were created. It was a fun day!!! 👩🏻🚀👨🏽🚀
We had a busy day yesterday and Greg Chapman came into school in the afternoon to teach us about the history of Christmas. We learnt about the Christmas truce in WW1, that Princes Albert gave us the Christmas tree (he brought the tradition over from Germany) and that a long time ago London used to get lots of snow and the River Thames would freeze over, they used to build markets on the river and even drove horse and carts around it. To finish the show he told us a story called ‘A Christmas Carol’ by Charles Dickens.
We had an assembly yesterday to teach us more about Uganda. We leaner about mosquito nets and how important they are. Did you know that one mosquito net costs £1.50? That’s not very much at all considering it does a very important job! Mosquito nets save the life’s of lots of people around the world.
